Approx. 36 miles S of Naas on the main Naas / Carlow road (N9).
Go to churchyard in the town of Castledermot.Signposted.
Features :
2 pierced ring panelled high crosses of granite are detailed here.The south
cross shown on this page has on its west face (bottom pic) has 4 panels
surrounding Christ's crucifixion on the top. On the left arm is david,
on the right arm the sacrifice of Isaac. 3 panels below
this appear to be Daniel in the lions' den on the bottom. Up one
from that is St. Anthony's temptation and above that Adam & Eve
in the garden of Eden. The base shows a hunting expedition .
The east face (just below) is given to complete geometric key designs.
