Location : In Kells town centre, at the top of a hill. Look for the 100ft. round stone tower. Signposted.
Features : St. Colum Cille founded this monastery about 805 A.D. Here are the remains of the cross of St. Patrick and two broken crosses. On this page are the broken crosses, one in an unfinished condition and a wall type cross slab.
Date : 9th - 10th century A.D.
