I have been exploring Irish megalithic sites now from about AD 1977 and before that my dad took me to see Newgrange when I was a preteen. All the research is original and I'm an independent researcher. Here is a chronology of sorts about the development of www.bluhorizonlines.org.
Back in 1999 I had a computer and was online. I was hoping to connect with like minded individuals in Archaeoastronomy. I delineated my first megalithic complex, astronomically, after frequent visits there during the 1990s. I sent almost all my html work to people I initially thought would appreciate what I did. In the process I discovered that another individual had also studied the same megalithic complex independently of me. Unfortunately we argued over particulars of my work and I pulled the plug when it seemed to me that somebody was not going to assist me in helping to set up my site.
I went ahead independently when I set up on the web. In the course of doing research for this type of study, online, that is you frequently shift between web sites and surf here and there, sometimes blindly. A particular entry on my site back then irked the individual I had previously tried to work with. He claimed that I had placed an entry on my site that looked odd to him. He mentioned he had previously had an online interview and that I needed to it. I tried first to open it but failed to. He was making suggestions that I had seen this article but I denied it and asked him to check the logs of the site in question. When I did get this web site looked at, the article was familiar, so I needed to make amends and correct my site immediately which I did. The offending sentence was removed and I instigated a link with this researcher which still exists today.
I thought it best to smooth things over and not create any more acrimony than what already seemed to exist. I also was up front with all my people on my links pages at that time about this. A couple a weeks later, I had bluescreens going online. The bluescreens were an annoyance but I worked around them. This went on continuously for quite some time while I established emails with likeminded people in archaeoastronomy. After a couple of months I had more difficulty in getting on line with web site freezes etc. When I finished each daily on line session I automatically pulled the plug on my computer as a precaution.
Eventually I moved residence but upon trying to boot up my computer, the hard drive crashed with a high pitched whine. luckily I had already backed up my data. I could not fix my computer so I bought another one and now proceeded to stay off line and do my research. I would visit local libraries if I needed to get online for anything. I was happy enough until I wrongly allowed my ex-fiancee to go on line for what I thought would be brief enough not to attract any attention. Unfortunately she stayed online in my absence for hours! I worried that something might have been stored on my computer so I checked it out. It seemed ok. Then in early 2000 I contacted Dan Charrios when I got his software and wanted to confirm that it was operating properly. I explained to Dan that I could not go online or update my web site. That it was virtually impossible. He agreed to set up a page for me on my eclipse discovery. Then things got spooky, for want of a better word. I moved residence again and this time my post started to go astray, my phone received starnge annoying callers and 'telemarketers' even though it was private and off directory. My email was interferred with and still is today. Friends could not contact me and calls made by me were not getting to the outside world. As news spread about the eclipse I wondered if I could interest professionals in this work so I contacted a surveyor who again I thought would help out. Initially , as before, I faxed him unpublished drawings and followed that up with a phone call. He claimed he never received the drawings and wasn't that keen on helping me either. I asked him to look at my web site, but he made excuses saying his computer was down at the time. In fact he wold not engage in any email or letter exchange. I sent him extracts from my web site and I have a confirmation of the fax sent to him .So that was that.
Next since my post was going astray somebody stopped me getting a credit card through the post, three times. Today I'm still offline not wishing to go online anytime soon. Anytime I do go online on other computers I get 'interferance', if you understand my meaning.
Now I know that this is none of my rivals doings because we maintain links and when my email is working we connect and I know they would not stoop this low to get one up on me. However somebody has a grudge against me. Maybe its my ex-fiancee, I wouldn't put it past her, but the reception I got for the eclipse told me somebody was going behind my back trying to discredit me, this is why I choose to set the record straight here and now. Any suggestions anybody?
